On our way to Yellowstone from Bozeman, MT, we stopped at the Big Sky Resort. It is just a few miles from the highway but it almost all uphill incline driving. It is very scenic at Big Sky Resort but unfortunately it was closed from the winter and ould not be opening till late June. We were hoping to stop... more

I took a trip to Big Sky for 4 days of boarding. I had read other reviews on the resort and the common theme was that the place is a challenge and more set for skiers then boarders. Alll true. I would say that based on my experiences at Brighton, Heavenly, Squaw, Mt Baker and Kirkwood, Big Sky's greens are... more

Big Sky was absolutely breathtaking! The views from the mountain are gorgeous. The resort is HUGE - we were at Big Sky for four days and I don't think we ran the same trail twice. The lines for the lifts were non-existent. The only time we stood in line was waiting for the gondola up to Lone Peak. Don't miss... more

Big Sky was wonderful except for the Stillwater building. The 1 bedroom condo I stayed in was very dated, worn, and quite dirty. These condos are privately owned and rented when they are not in use, so each one is different; I recommend requesting photos of the condo you are being placed in. The employee at the front desk admitted... more

Dear Son, Sorry I didn't get this written when I was in Montana but I was very busy skiing, skiing, skiing. When you called on day six saying , "Why haven't you called me about this epic storm", I hadn't realized it was epic, but we did have ten to twelve inches in one day. I had to wear my... more

When planning a ski vacation, different people are looking for different things. In my mind, I want the skiing to be amazing. That is by far my highest priority. My rating of Big Sky is based on that perspective. If apres ski is important to you, if accommodations are very important, if restaurants are very important to you . .... more

Just returned from a trip to Big Sky. We had awesome snow. I know each year differs, but this year there was 100+ inches on the mountain. With the new terrain and additional runs they've opened, we felt like we were on a private mountain on some of t he runs. No lift lines, kids 10 and under ski free.... more

Big Sky ski area IS big. The skiing variety is wide -- good for beginners to experts. But the resort staff are far from friendly, the base amenities and shops are helter-skelter and poorly signed, and the place is darn cold (something which keeps the snow good, though, and which the resort obviously has no control over). Also, the "best... more

We just returned from a week at Big Sky, and we won't be returning anytime soon. Poorly run, from a customer service perspective. What would it cost Boyne to recruit employees who have a firm grasp of English? Many of the employees that interact with customers are foreign, especially from S. America, and we found that their mastery of English... more

Our family visited Big Sky Resort to ski over the Christmas Holiday. Big Sky is a beautiful place and I am sure with more snow, it would have been great skiing conditions. We still enjoyed the slopes but found the mountain not very well run. We were often, stuck on lifts or gondolas. It did not matter what lift they... more
