I was lucky enough to go on a day when it was not very crowded and I was mostly by myself while looking at the caves. You park and (if you don't live in Montana) you pay $5 (per car) to get a ticket. Leave it in your windshield. There are a few caves to visit and different stopping points... More

Off season, great historic information. It is great to walk through and decipher the pictographs and images of times gone by. It was sad to see the erosion and possible vandalism. Nice it was open on a Sunday for the family.

It is very pretty out there and neat to have a part of History so close to Billings! A great way to spend an afternoon with the family. Bring some lunch and have a picnic.

After visiting the visitor center, paying the entrance fee, and getting excited about seeing the overhyped pictographs are not visible to the naked eye. Not much there. Don't bother.....

The park staff were very nice but going to the cave was a waste of time. The pictures are barely visible without special equipment. Binoculars may have helped some but honestly all you can see are some smudges of paint. It is not a scenic area or drive.

Three of us went to see this, and were disappointed. We saw exactly ONE red pictograph, we never could find any others, even though we systematically searched using high-quality binoculars and a monocular. Save your money!

This was a nice park not far from Billings. I do not like enclosed spaces, so was thrilled to learn that the "caves" are more like rooms with an overhang along an open path rather than caves. Since they are relatively exposed, the paintings are a bit worse for the wear, but it was exciting to see such old paintings... More

The folks at Bitter Creek Outfitters--a family business--have is a 7,000-acre working cattle ranch, that surrounds the Pictograph Caves. You get a uniques perspective on the whole area from on top of some of the nicest horses in the West. The family that runs this ranch are so kind and welcoming it is truly a western experience. We brought our... More

I was terribly disappointed, having already been to other native attractions I thought this would also be of interest to us. Had there been a guide to point out the different pictures that were supposed to be there it may have been more interesting. But there wasn't and one of the remarks from our group was that you must have... More

Heading west from Minnesota to Montana. Loved this stop on our way through town. It is only $5 per car if you live outside of MT, free if you live in MT. The tour is self-guided so you can spend as much or as little time as you like. There is at least one picnic table if you want to... More
