Last Sunday we took my elderly parents who were visiting from out of state to Gates of the Mountains for the boat ride. My dad isn't very ambulatory and walks very slowly with a cane. We had not planned on this - actually, we were geocaching and took a wrong turn. As it turned out, this was one of the most interesting stops on our trip. The captain was calm and steered the boat so people on both sides could get nice pictures. He was quick to stop so we could check out rock formations... more

On my recent trip out west (2 weeks ago) I stayed for a few days with a friend from Helena. Both of us have 3 children and we thought to take the kids on the Gates of the Mountain boat tour. The website lists to pack a picnic lunch and you can get off the boat to picnic and reboard... more
