This rustic hot springs is located in one of Montana's most scenic valleys, in the middle of nowhere, especially in the winter. A friend and I stayed in a rustic cabin, which was fine--just a wood stove, two queens and electricity--but a little pricey, even though breakfast and the hot springs soak is included. The main lodge is a little... More

I was not sure exactly what to expect on our visit to Elkhorn Hot Springs, but I went with an open mind knowing ahead of time that it would be rustic. We got a much later start on our trip than was expected, and this was our first stop of 3 different hot springs in Montana. Our late start was... More

For the record, I live in Dillon, Montana about 50 miles away and have been here more than once, and will end up going again. I have property near by and it's the only place for a soak unless I drive all the way to Jackson Hot Springs (which if you're planning a trip at a distance, I recommend doing... More

The Elkhorn Hot Springs web site calls the cabins "rustic," by which they mean no running water, a single lamp and tattered furniture. A Depression-era outhouse fills out the picture. All for $100 per night (including tax). The bottom of the hot springs pool was half-covered by a rusty scuz and floating horseflies outnumbered the bathers about 1,000 to 1.... More

With a large sum of money and someone to pay attention to the minor details this could be a nice place. Without getting too much into this - just read the previous review - we won't go back and will not tell anyone else to go there either. Dirty - the one word that comes to mind about most things.... I kept expecting Clark Griswold to pop out of one of the cabins, and say "hello" to me. Seriously. This is a place he would pick out. Mosquitos. A "hot-spring" fed pool that had green slime on the bottom and thousands of dead bugs on top. Horrible food. Ghastly beds, with sheets and mattresses that look, smell, and feel like... More

As the other reviews say, it is run down, there is slime on the bottom of the pool, and the cabins are sparse. But it was a great getaway. We were misinformed (by friends) that there were cooking utensils in the cabins and because the restaurant was closed (off season) we decided to bring some steaks for dinner. Once we... More

This place has all the makings of an awesome getaway: beautiful remote location in the woods, historic cabins and buildings, quiet, creek, and hot springs too, but with the way it's presented it feels unwelcoming. We figured it would be run down and rustic, which is great by us, but we didn't count on it being dirty, in disrepair, and... More
