Small museum, chock full of history. Could spend 2 hours. Lady overseeing the place is too chummy. You can hear her talking to others while you are view and reading, and then she "latches on to you" to slow your progress. Lots of interesting artifacts and very helpful volunteers.

One would not know it from the look of Beatty today, but at one time it was a thriving and busy town. Inside this little museum is an eclectic collection of memorabilia of Beatty's past.The museum staff is eager to answer questions and talk about Beatty's history. Admission is free.Well worth a detour on the way to Death Valley.

The museum has an eclectic collection. All kinds of old things, such as butter churns, old-fashioned refrigerators, farm tools, plus lots of stuff related to the mines. we meet a really nice young woman who was working at the museum and obviously loves the area. She spent a lot of time telling us about the history of Beatty, Rhyolite and the area.

This museum really houses a lot of artifacts about the entire area. The staff is friendly and efficient and you can really tell they care a lot about their town, area, and maintaining the historical abundance in this part of our country! Well worth the time to spend there and talk with them.
