Even if you don't take a tour of the Dam, the view of the dam from the bridge is worth the drive. And after you've done that, then drive down to the dam, and look up at the bridge. Take the Hoover Dam exit to access the free parking lot, because you can't see anything driving over the bridge, and... More

Its the Hoover Dam so worth a view. We didn't pay for the tour as I felt we would get just as much if we parked the car and walked across the dam. Lots of people there...worth a peek since its only 15 mins. from Las Vegas. You can see Lake Mead on the way.

We've been to the Hoover Dam four or five times on past visits to Las Vegas, but this was our first visit since the bypass bridge (officially named "The Mike O'Callaghan – Pat Tillman Memorial Bridge") was finished. This bridge includes a pedestrian/bike lane on the northbound side of the bridge that affords stunning views of the dam, Lake Mead... More

Less than an hour from Los-Vegas is this marvelous dam. We can easily spend 3hours and not get board at all. The kids loved it too. Take the full tour it is worth it. Come as early as possible. It is quite busy during weekends. We must see it. Do not miss it!
