Is very interesting to see how nonchalant people were about atomic testing in early fifty's. The old pictures of Missthe Atomic Bombtesting are hilarious. This is a great way to spend an afternoon.

This outstanding museum - affiliated with the Smithsonian Institution- located a couple of miles east of the Las Vegas Strip is a real gem, especially for those of us who were born or grew up in the 1950s and 1960s. The exhibits are brimming with items and information about the race to develop and exploit atomic weaponry and energy, much...

This is a very comprehensive and intelligent museum - not dumbed down or geared for grade-schoolers, as many museums seem to be these days. Lots of info, much to read, good videos, interesting artifacts. If you are interested in Atomic testing, you will enjoy this. The special, extra-admission Area 51 exhibit is just plain stupid. Please don't waste your money...

Off the strip, across from good local cafes in Vegas, a friend tipped us off that we should see the Atomic Museum. First we went into the Area 51 Display. That was quite fun, and made us wonder a lot about sightings. Then, we went into the Atomic Testing side, and that was fascinating. The docents were available to answer...

This was our last stop out of town and we learned so much going through this tour. It can take a couple of hours to go through if you want to read everything because it is interesting. My teenagers really enjoyed it but I think young children would be bored.
A lot of information if you are interested in the nuclear testing that was done in Nevada and the surrounding area. My husband and I both enjoyed it. It is a mixture of video clips and displays with information to read. Don't waste your money on the extra charge to see Area 51...it doesn't even belong in that museum!!
Informative about nuclear testing; slightly gung-ho
Be prepared to spend a few hours. Lots and lots of reading needed to be able to understand the museum.
Wife surprised me with a visit to the Atomic Testing Museum. We had absolutly no idea what to expect. The tour starts at the beginning of the Atomic Age and carry's on through the years. From Hirshima and Nagasaki to "Duck and Cover" and on to the practice of sitting in Las Vegas watching the mushroom clouds...with sun glasses. The...

Website said it would take about an hour to visit and we found that with the reading/videos it was nearly 90 minutes for us.We read almost everything and watched almost every video - it was fascinating. We truly enjoyed the visit, and the gift shop was...
