This is a great place to walk laps around the lake and enjoy watching all the waterfowl that float in the lake's waters. There's a nice children's play area. Virginia was built in the 1930s as part of the WPA project.

This beautiful lake in the southwest suburbs of Reno is home to hundreds of of ducks and geese waiting for bread crumbs was the many daily walkers. Since it's a mile around, walkers can measure their exercise. The kids love feeding the birds and the playground across the street. Bring a lunch and enjoy the beautiful fountain. There is nothing... We like to stay at the Peppermill Resort when we go to Reno. Just a couple blocks from the Peppermill is the Virginia Lake Park. Instead of a boring tread mill in the exercise room, we walk the park. It is one mile around a small lake. The lake is home to many birds including, but not limited to several... More

It's a nice piece of country in the middle of the city. Really enjoy walking around the lake there for exercise. It's just a 2 minute walk from the hotel.

I am a big time bird lover, and Virginia Lake is FULL of ducks, geese and unfortunately GULLS! But they all seem to get along fine. feeding the birds seems OK, as local residents come with bags of old bread and such and are greeted with great enthusiasm by the winged residents. There is a walkway around the lake, and... More
