People that worked there were fantastic, friendly and helpful. Cost to get in was $6.00 for adults and less for others. It was worth it. You could spend hours there.

I was surprised that the big parking lot was empty - even though there was plenty of traffic on the main road--and it was raining. The museum should have been jammed. This seems to be a "mom and pop" operation. There were several layouts, from N scale to G, some quite elaborate, although some looked a bit dusty to me.... More

We specifically made a trip to North Conway to see Hartmann's because my 13 yr-old son is a model train fanatic. This was our 2nd time. The displays are set up to be looked at, studied and photography is invited. There is lots to see, but little to touch. The merchandise is expensive and some are quite rare. It's understandable... Coming from a guy who like trains and urges the same for my sons: In a very-kid friendly area, we were utterly disappointed. The display cases were very nice but it was quite evident that the owners would keep the place closed to the public if they could afford to maintain their hobby independently. For young kids, pushing the buttons... More

Being located just south of Story Land, you would think this place would get a nice draw from the families who pass by with kids all day in the summer. But to my surprise, this place was so unfriendly to kids it was shocking. It seems more like they only want adults to visit, despite it being a TOY train... More

This place is a joke! What an utter tourist trap and rip off. The shop is nice with many fine model train items but the people who run it are very unfriendly and unwelcoming especially to children. We stopped late August 2007. My husband and I were with our two year old son. There are signs reminding people to mind... More

Spent $5 apiece to see the rairoad models. Not well lit, and dust scenes, ran for 3 minutes. The panoramas were o.k. but not special. Large collection of different models was excellent in display cases.
