Usually a good place. One Summer the park rangers would not spray a nest of yellow jackets and a few oeople did get stung even though they were not bothering the bugs. Decent amount of trees for shade for those that do not like shadeless places.

The beach area tends to get crowded, but people are drinking, swimming, playing games, and having a great time. Camping is par for any other state campground. They are pretty good about trying to keep the rowdiness to a minimum when it's late.

I've camped here three or four times and love it. It's beautiful, especially sites near the water. You need to book well in advance for the highly desired sites. Too bad they don't allow little dogs. The beach is grand, you can rent canoes, the lake is striking, the water is clear and swimable, and there's plenty to see. We've... More

We used to go camping here every summer when I was younger. Great place for family camping, spending the day at the beach and lake activities. Swimming area is a nice sandy beach that it roped in -- can get a little crowded on hot summer days. There is a small camp store where you can buy penny candy and... More

Water is clear, and you can walk out quite far without it being too deep. Decent sandy beach. Snack bar and restrooms. Gets very crowded on weekends, but weekdays are not too bad.

Good place to take the family on a hot weekend in the summer. Especially if you like to canoe around the lake - Pawtuckaway State Park has canoe or paddle-boat rentals for a small hourly change.

This is a state park, and is a nice quiet relaxing place to spend the day. It's fresh water swimming, and kept clean. Nice place to bring the family and spend the day.

Gorgeous views and perfect hiking trails for young kids. Not too strenuous, but offers some exercise. Lake and camping there too.
