Roll up your sleeves and prepare for a thrill at Adventure Aquarium on the Camden, NJ Waterfront, America’s Most Touchable Aquarium! Open from 10:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. 365 days a year, Adventure Aquarium is a true waterfront treasure, featuring nearly 200,000 square feet of space, over 2 million gallons of water and 6,500 super cool animals! The fifth largest aquarium in the country, Adventure Aquarium is the only aquarium in the world to exhibit hippos and one of only two aquariums in the country to exhibit a Hammerhead Shark. Adventure Aquarium offers numerous hands-on touch experiences including the all new Stingray Beach Club, where you can touch and hand-feed gentle and curious stingrays; Touch-A-Shark, presented by Horizon Blue Cross Blue Shield of NJ; Interactive Inlet where you can see what it feels like to touch jellies, horseshoe crabs, lobsters, grass shrimp and more; and Creature Feature, where you can reach in to touch colorful, coldwater creatures (we call them invertebrates. You can also visit with African Penguins and Grey and Harbor Seals, touch your nose to the nose of a 10-foot sand tiger shark in a 40-foot suspended Shark Tunnel, or visit the 760,000-gallon Ocean Realm exhibit to come face-to-face with sharks, stingrays, hundreds of schooling fish and even a 500 pound Loggerhead Sea Turtle. Adventure Aquarium also offers interactive games, FREE live shows, and up-close animal experiences where children (and adults) can come within inches of some of the planet’s coolest sea creatures. An accredited member of the American Zoological and Aquarium Association, Adventure Aquarium admission is $23.95 for adults and $17.95 for children ages 2-12.

A nice little treausure in the heart of Camden. A good array of sea life. Just the right amount of education. Not too little for the adults and not too much for the kids. Easyto get through in about an hour and a half.

For families with small children, this is the hands down the best aquarium we've visited. The hands on exhibits are amazing and engaging. The ray tank is my personal favorite. Add to that the hippos and the shark tunnel and you've got an amazing aquarium worth every penny.

I can't get past the cost. Nice for what it is, but I think it's over priced. Went on a weekend too and lots of crowds, guess that's because it was cold outside - everyone looking for something to entertain the kids!

If you're not going to the Baltimore Aquarium, you're going here. It's not the greatest aquarium in the world but its still very cool. Being right on the water creates a great atmosphere and the exhibits are beautiful. You need to check out the 40 foot shark tunnel. It's amazing.

I've been going to Adventure Aquarium from the time it opened up in 1992 as the New Jersey State Aquarium (featuring nothing but fish from the Delaware River). The current incarnation, Adventure Aquarium, is a totally different animal - penguins, a seal show, a walk through shark tunnel, tons and tons of fish (including piranhas), and even a hammarhead shark....

I've been going to Adventure Aquarium long before this overhaul to improve it's image (i.e. back when it was Camden Aquarium). The surrounding area is clean and free from trouble. The last time I traveled there, I took the RiverLine and it dropped me off within walking distance. The attractions were enjoyable and included a touch tank, outdoor exhibits, free...

We visited Adventure Aquarium as part of our Philadelphia City Pass ticket and enjoyed the inside exhibits very much, especially the hippos! It was very clean and modern and for the most part the staff was very knowledgable. The outdoor exhibits left a little to be desired and it felt like they were forgotten about by staff which is sad...
