I love the Twin Lights, it's always a nice afternoon out and the drive up the hill is always fun. Bring a book, and enjoy the history.

The fraternal twin towers catch the eye, but it's the lovely jam packed interesting collection of artifacts and education displays of all things lighthouse that makes this a wonderful stop alone. There's descriptions of the life of the lighthouse keeper and his family, historical displays of the life saving station, and dozens of delightful surprises in the small museum between... More

We arrived 3 minutes too late to go up in the light house, but it was worth the trip anyway. Definitely plan on coming back when they are open.

A climb to the tower gives a great view of NYC as well as Sandy Hook and a good portion of the NJ coast. The Museum, nautical by nature, is quite interesting. Also, not well known, the site was where Marconi experimented with radio.

If you live within an hours drive, or if you are already headed to the jersey shore, do not miss this place. Scenic views of the ocean and NY city ( on a clear day ). Climb up to the top for even better views. The steps are a little steep and have to be very careful. Wonderful info all... More
