The park is great - best way to get to the statue and Ellis Island too - much shorter lines, but since we were travelling for Thanksgiving we had our luggage in the car and came back to the parking lot to find out the car had been broken into and 2 laptops were stolen. We stayed at a hotel in Jersey City and hooked up with the light rail line right in back of the hotel to the Liberty State Park stop and then the shuttle bus to the docks. We were whisked on the Statue of Liberty/Ellis Island ferry without much of a crowd and then got to see the statue and pedestal.... more
