I just love this place. It's so close to home and I have a lot of fond memories there. Hiking with close friends, and picnicing with friends and family throughout the years is very special.

It has EVERYTHING..lakes, mountains, trails, botanical gardens and superb mountain biking and hiking. Nice beach on Sheperd's lake in the summer.

Anywhere else it would be better percieved, but surounded by Bear Mountain, Harrimen, and Sterling Forest, it comes across as a village green.

Beautiful secluded country less than an hour from NYC...Enjoiy the day and the park..It is worth the trip

I went to Ringwood because I wanted to see the mansion. It's a short walk from the parking lot and my first impression was good. The mansion is impressive. It belongs to the State of New Jersey and there are guided tours. They won't let you take picture inside and sell only very old postcards (but they are cheap, $0.15... More
