I had researched on how the elephants were trained before reserving for my husband and I, I did not wish to partake of any inhuman conditioning of the animals. The ride up dangerous roads full of bumps & rocks with no safety guards on the roads was quite a tiring experience. Because we were in the Addo region I assumed... More

We used Nicholas at Uyaphi.com, a large local online agent, who was very helpful in organising everything for us, also looking after our budget. The Elephant Back Safari was amazing. We did not stay over because of time constraints but the drive through beautiful scenery was well worth it. An hour or so of strolling through the bush on the back... More

We stayed at the Lodge for 2 nights with our 2 kids and could not have hoped for a better first experience in South Africa. Geoff and Moz were great hosts with wonderful stories to share and keen to make everyone's visit special. Our 'tent' was beautiful and luxurious, even with the 2 extra beds added for the kids. Not... We visited AEBS in March 2011, staying for 1 night. The accommodation is tented and is very comfortable. The food was delicious and the staff took excellent care of us, even with 2 of us having specific dietary requirements. We had an amazing personal experience with the 3 elephants. First, we rode on their backs, which, although obviously (a personal... More

We took our five year old daughter to stay at AEBS lodge in March 2011. We stayed two nights and it was just a magical experience for our young daughter (as it was for us). The food is lovely, the hospitality is warm and gracious, and the elephants... wow. Our daughter was treated with kindness and each member of staff... More

My wife and I were lucky enough to stay for a couple of nights at the Addo Elephant Back Safari and Lodge in the mountains of Addo Elephant National Park. We had an amazing experience, from our first "bedtime encounter" with the three gigantic African elephants, Duma, Macqua and Taba, to our delicious Braai and other dinner, our wonderful breakfasts... I just got back from a trip of a lifetime to South Africa in July 2010. I stayed in Addo area for 2 nights. If you find yourself in that area, Addo day safari is a must do. Addo Elephant Park is a National Park, which means that the animals are not controlled so you can be driving for hours... More

We started our day in Addo Elephant National Park with a Safari-Tour in a Landrover that is offered by the park. I would strongly recommend that you try to be on the small Landrover (space for approx. 7 people) and not the large vehicle. From the car, we had a fantastic view and the driver drove off-road. thus we had... More
