I went to Augrabies Falls in March 2011 just after the heavy rains from February, it was the second time I went there and I must say I prefer the Falls in full flow as it was SPECTACULAR !! Parents with small children must beware to keep them under control as there are damage to the viewing platforms...and some not... More

The Falls are beautiful but unfortunately there was a lot of water damage in 2011 on the walkways. One can not access all viewpoints anymore and I hope that the platforms for viewing will be repaired soon. It was disappointing that literally nothing has been done in the past 12 months to get the park back to it former glory.

On out first and only trip to augrabies, we were full of expectations about the scenery and wildlife. The waterfall was amazing and the wooden decking (the ones we used) in good condition. We just stood and looked aat the waterfall for at least an hour. The surrounding mountains was breath taking. We then decided to drive through the park... More

This is a beautiful location. The area has safe wooden walkways. The only drawback is some of the landings that have been closed for some time after heavy floods - it's time they fix this!

We last visited the Augrabies Falls some 30 years ago with our caravan and 2 young children and there have been lots of improvements since that time. The access road is now fully tarred and there is a well equipped visitor centre, shop and restaurant. There is also a nature drive and very well appointed chalet accomodation. The Falls are... More

Not just another waterfall, it is one of the largest in the world. Seeing it in August is beautiful and to give one an idea of the power of water and the sheer volumes that pour over it in the summer season just look at the closed walkway sections that were damaged by the flood and seeing how far they... We visited in winter, the dry season, and so the falls themselves were at their lowest. Nevertheless, the huge canyon accessed at the visitors centre where they tumble down is an impressive sight and must be stunning when they're in full flow - definitely the third most impressive waterfall I've seen after Victoria Falls and Iguacu Falls. There is also... More

Augrabies experienced heavy flooding early February and at the time of our visit mid March around six weeks later only two of five viewpoints around the Falls were open; the rest had tape blocking access due to water damage. As the Falls are the whole reason for going, you might expect a little more effort in getting these repaired quickly... More
