Fantastis hidden gem. Incredible setting and a great place to have a picnic down in the forest

This is a hidden gem. Unpretentious. Amazing food. and a museum that gives you the full story. A must visit along the wine route.

Solms Delta combines social history with great wine. A visit to the Cape should definitely include a trip here. Beautiful wine farm as well!

We liked that some of the profits from this vineyard are returned to the people who work there. There's also a good little museum which makes this vineyard well worth a visit.

This is the estate where everyone wants to work because the farm workers are well looked after. It is also one of the oldest estates in the area and the only one to use the dessication method. Despite a hard sell on the wines, we enjoyed the visit - fascinating information about the history of the Cape winelands and particularly the exploitation of slaves in early years.

Very different to other vineyards we visited for wine tasting. The service was too attentive - standing over us as we tried each wine until we finished each glass, then pressuring us to buy. If you make an effort to visit Solms Delta, you will be highly rewarded. Book ahead (previous day should be fine) and take a Social History tour before you taste the wine and sample the food. This place is a microcosm of what South Africa needs to achieve. Wine is good and food is fab.
