The museum is charming. During the informative guided tour in the beautiful house ,the visitor listens to audio of satchmo. The house literally comes to life. The museum also includes a garden. from time to time the museum throw garden parties. Was wonderful visiting there. Let's just say that I'll never listen to satchmo the same way again.

I love Jazz and I love history so this was a winner- What REALLY made the visit memorable was the young tour guide. He was about 18 and had a wonderful poise, was knowledgable and informative and fun as well.

This is my “go to museum” for my out-of-town visitors to the NYC area. An easy ride from Manhattan on Subway Line #7 to 103rd St. and Corona Plaza in Queens followed by a 10 minute walk, through a Dominican/Hispanic working class immigrant neighborhood, to Louis and Lucille Armstrong’s house. The trip is about 30 minutes and worth it. The... More

My boyfriend and I moved to Flushing over eight months ago and have been discovering parks, restaurants, and cultural and historical sites from Jackson Heights to Port Washington. We should have visited the Louis Armstrong Museum sooner. It's a must-see for anyone who respects the talent and the contributions of the great Louis Armstrong.

It was a privilege to have such an intimate insight into the private life of one of the greatest musical artists of all time. Visitors get to walk around the home of Louis & his wife, which hasn't been changed since they lived there up to the 1970s. Our expert and enthusiastic guide / educator brought the great man to... Louis Armstongs home from 1943 on is as if he justwalked out the door and might step back at any moment. The House tour takes only 30 to 40 mins. Actal conversational tapes recorded by Armstrong are played in each room - it is as if you were there with him. The Museum is a single small room with only... More

Visited New York city in June 2011. Wonderful, exciting city! Took the #7 subway to Corona Queens where the highlight of our trip was taking in Hot Jazz in the Cool Garden at the Louis Armstrong House in Corona, Queens. The Bria Skonberg Quartet was playing for the first of the 2011 Summer series of Hot Jazz in the Cool... More

It is well off the beaten New York City tourist path... but, coming from someone who is a native New Yorker, I think the Louis Armstrong House is well worth a visit. This is particularly true if you're visiting in the summer and have the chance to pop in during one of their Hot Jazz/Cool Garden concerts. While we didn't... More

In the 1940s, Louis Armstrong bought a house in Corona, Queens and lived there until he died in 1971. He loved recording every-day conversations, which are played during the tour, and his wife loved over-the-top decorating with wallpaper and mirrors; and so I left the house with very strong impressions of both of them. If you are a fan of... More
