Long Island has played a huge role in the history of aviation. From the first Trans-Atlantic flight to building the lunar landing module and top gun fighter jets. And that's the idea of this great museum. If you are from Long Island you owe it to yourself and your family to visit. These places need our support too.

We visited this place during April school break. It was a very nice visit. The place was not crowded at all. Nice exhibits. Great staff working who are eager to tel you about their exhibits. The simulation ride had technical problems all day long , but we managed to fly with "Blue Angels" at least twice. I would definitely visit... More

They have a lot of interactive exhibits. Great lunar history as well as Long Island Aviation History, which lead the world for many years. Try the simulators. You and the kids will have lots of fun. They also have an IMAX theater. That in itself is an experience

The Cradle of Aviation Museum is the most modern a/c museum i had the pleasure of visiting. Aviation starts within the 1800s , with ballomns up tp the late 1990s, this includes the space age. Nine galleries represent different eras. As a visitor walks into the lobby, they are greeted by a Blue Angle Grummam F-11 Tiger, with a Consolidated... More

I don't write many reviews, but I felt the Cradle of Aviation deserves a stellar one. I had my son's 1st birthday party with nieces and nephews as old as 12 attending and they had a blast! Everyone, parents, children and grandparents, really enjoyed themselves with the craft, tour and carousel. The staff is a delight and very organized. I... More

My wife and I, took our daughter and her 2 young boys, 1 1/2 and 3 1/2 to the Cradle. While they would certainly get more out of it if they were older, they had a GREAT time and there is an area for younger children like them. Didn't check out the IMAX theater but did have several rides on... More

Not enough people know about this remarkable museum. It captures the amazing connection that Long Island had to the development of aviation - from being the starting point to Lindbergh's first trans-Atlantic flight, to having built machines that got us to the moon. Wonderful people to explain what you are seeing, a comfortable venue, altogether worth the time to find... More

Interesting to a select group who find aviation, and its history to be interesting. Other than those people, few would pay the entry fee

Very interesting and plenty of knowledgeable Veteran Volunteers who can give first hand accounts of many of the exhibits. A must see for any aviation enthusiasts and an excellent history lesson for kids of all ages. A great space craft exhibit as well as fighter planes and original passenger plane seats to sit in and reminisce. Very cool to see... More
