There is a focus on good local food and wine (and beer and cider) in the Finger Lakes, and Cayuga Lake has it's fair share of all, plus an active cultural life in Ithaca and beautiful gorges at the state parks.

I've had a boat on the lake for years and enjoyed fishing for a variety of species.

such a piece of hidden beauty, the trails that bring you through the gorge are well maintained and easy to walk. The views are spectacular! Take a backpack, and stoll off the trail to picnic. Take your trash Back out with you please! There is nothing worse then seeing someones trash left behind!

This really a very beautiful area. I have travelled through most of N. America, and much of Europe. This area is one of the most beautiful, and it is not expensive compared to most tourist areas, although July and August can be a little pricey. If you haven't been there, you should go. You will be glad you did.

Cayuga Lake has so many advantages. State and local parks. Ithaca at the southern end. This lake is about 20 miles long and 1-2 miles wide. It is very cold all year long but has great fishing and is great for sailing and recreational boating. The Cayuga wine trail goes around the lake and there are 20-30 wineries along the... More

A cold lake for Summer swimming because it's so deep. The color isn't the most beautiful but the water is fairly clean. But it's a dramatic looking lake with it's long "finger-like" shape.

I was married here. Not only can you enjoy the overlook but you can hike, run, enjoy a picnic and the lake. I Love it here all year round.

Cayuga Lake is wonderful for boating, not so much for swimming, too cold.
