I’m normally not a fan of any self-proclaimed “wine region.” If it’s not France or Chile or California, I’m skeptical. Usually, the quality of wines are mediocre and the “region” usually is a marketing hype by some pathetic tourist office. I was prepared to be completely underwhelmed by the Finger Lakes Wine Region. Great winery's on this specific lake. What a beautiful area! Definitely visit Belhurst Castle on your route, they have a great Sunday brunch or just go to have a drink and sit on the patio overlooking the lake. more
