One of the most beautiful lakes in the state. Small town friendly people.

This is one of the small Finger Lakes. The village of Skaneateles is small, walkable, and especially charming from Thanksgiving to Christmas when volunteers roam the village in period costumes singing carols.

For a little town, there is a lot to do; good food from hamburgers to gourmet, close to wineries, cruise on crystal clear lake, top-rated spa, boutique shops.

I go to Church at St. James in Skaneateles and have wonderful outdoor services in the park next to the church during the summer.

Skaneateles Lake is a short drive from Syracuse and a wonderful haven. We drive there to read by the lake and wander through the shops. Lunch at the Sherwood Inn or the Blue Water Grill is always a treat and the patisserie is a must stop before returning home.

Try the dinner boat ride. You'll love it. Great shopping in specialty stores in Skaneateles too.

People were rude, snobish. They didn't want outsiders in their little private village.
