The site may be a little on the boring side for little ones, but I and my husband enjoyed it tremendously. The home is extremely charming, the grounds very lovely and the tour adequately informative and entertaining. Only wish the trains weren't plowing through the grounds every few minutes! more

Sunnyside is Washington Irving's home. The site has a gift shop/visitor center, and the actual home, including farmland, excellent view of the Hudson, period farm gardens, and extra buildings such as an ice house, woodshed, and outhouses. The guide was excellent, charming, and helpful, dressed in period costumes. The house is beautiful and quirky at the same time. We loved... more
