CMOST, as this museum is now called, is a gem of an educational center that serves a large number of Capital District residents and visitors. There are animals, nature trails and hands-on science exhibits. They offer educational programs for toddlers thru teenagers. I live 15 minutes from CMOST and we go there several times a month, sometimes once a week.... more

After having visited many children's museums in Minnesota, Wisconsin, Illinois, Indiana, Ohio, Kentucky, Pennsylvania, Kentucky and Connecticut we were disappointed by this children's museum. It is basically an upscale nature center with lots of live snakes. My kids who are 2 and 4 weren't even that impressed. more

Considering a visit to Troy/Albany, NY? You might read about the Junior Museum, a children's museum. It is a small place tucked away in a renovated building in a city setting. The exhibits are few and not worth the detour to find this place. I guess a business has to start somewhere, but when vacationing, keep passing through. more
