Spent a wonderful afternoon here, learning more about the Adirondacks and their inhabitants. Gorgeous building and so many hands-on activities to rouse the interest of children. If your child loves science & the natural world, you have to bring her/him here! There are interesting exhibits and quick clips to watch, as well as an intimate theater to watch longer films.... We visited this attraction actually over Memorial Day weekend a year ago (2011) and spent the whole day there. The exhibits are very well done and informative, especially the live otter one. Try to catch one of the talks given at the otther exhibit. Throughout the day there were other presentations and films shown in the theater. Outside, there are... More

As parents really appreciated the airy and smart architecture. Kids love the nature exhibit - all the interesting things they can learn and do. So happy we decided to go there.

New museum of the natural history of the Adirondacks. Go see the Otters, they are so cute. Lots to learn about the ecosystems of this part of the world.

The wild center is a beautiful natural preserve and living museum. The architecture was lovingly and thoughtfully built to enhance the outside ponds, lakes and wilderness and contain local flora and fauna so that we can study it. There are usually two worthwhile movies showing during the day. The otter attraction alone is worth going. I could watch them all... More

The Wild Center is a great addition to Tupper Lake. The exhibits are very well done and they have a great auditorium. Plus some great nature trails and of course you can't forget the Otters! At over 14.00 a ticket, it is a little pricey however.

Ecologically constructed building on a beautiful setting housing a museum thoroughly exploring the flora, fauna and geology of the Adirondack wilderness. There are also a number of easy walking trails that further explore the area. I've hiked the Adirondacks for many years and now see below the surface as well as above with more knowledge and respect.

The Wild Center, or The Natural History Museum of the Adirondacks is an excellent place to learn about the formation, geology and ecology of the largest national park in the lower 48 states. The building is located near the Raquette River in Tupper Lake, the geographic heart of the Adirondack mountains. The architecture evokes a "naturalist" style that blends in... More

Great place for all ages. For the winter, the guided snowshoe hike was great. Guide was knowledgeable and flexible. Snowshoe distribution was very efficient. Inside, loved the otters. Be sure to look at the parts of exhibits that are higher up. Food service was limited.
