loved walking around old town and seeing old buildings and architecture. people were warm and loved both the little alleyways and the beachfront
If you like to step back in time and discover, explore and get slightly lost in narrow streets and laneways, Stone Town is the place.
It is an interesting jumble of streets. Just walk in and get lost. The touts at the edge of the town were annoying. Once inside people were friendly, willing to give directions and not touting their shops. I enjoyed wandering through the town

This was my first visit to Africa. I'm still astonished with the kindness of local people, the beautiful sights everywhere and all the history of the island.
You dont need a guide if u have two or three days, take a free map and just walk and enjoy!
Zanzibar Stone Town is a must and have to come back.....
