It is an amazing fort partly built by Arabs and partly by Portugese, right near the sea. I would love to see a concert over there.

Worthwile place to visit, and if you have read Emily Ruete's autobiography you will be glad to spend some time in the room dedicated to Princess Salme. No escaping from the official guide, I'm afraid! His comments were of interest although the visit was a bit rushed...
What a disappointment. Dirty rooms, moldy paintings and broken exhibits. For such an important place in the Island's history, the authorities simply couldn't care. Even the family cemetery was weeded over - even if the funds are not available, a little effort in cleaning this potentially wonderful building would be very easy.
