Took my son here to hike recently. I haven't been since I was a little kid myself. It was absolutley gorgeous and we plan on going again soon. There are plenty of shady areas during the hike and a walk behind two waterfalls allows time to cool off on a hot day. Also there is a pool in the area... More

A last minute addition to our itinerary, this stop was one of our favorites on the trip. Although a small park, the natural shale formations, waterfalls and gorges were amazing to view and packed a punch per foot walked. The path is a walk up Glen Creek at the bottom of the gorge. Gazing up to the top of the... More

It is located in western New York, in the village of Watkin Glen. The Watkins Glen State Park contains several small waterfalls, rocks. The main attraction is the trails through the Glen, particularly the gorge trail. The Watkins Glen is 2 miles long, 300 ft deep. You can see everything in half day. The entrance to the trail is a... This a great park and the gorge is a must do in your live time. If you've got two cars you may want to park one at the bottom and start from the top otherwise the hike is a bit strenous.

The first time you go to visit Watkins Glen State Park, you become slightly confused as you pull into the parking lot. A state park.. Right in the middle of the town? You bet! The entrance to the park is right on the main street of Watkins Glen. Pull into the parking lot, walk up your first flight of stairs... More

Loved the park, didn't care for all the uphill walking, but worth every step.

The best thing about Watkins Glen State Park is that you don't have to be a serious hiker to enjoy a walk up the gorge and the beautiful scenery along the way. If you are a serious hiker, there is plenty for you as well. They seem to keep this very clean and well kept, the town of Watkins Glen... More

Watkins Glen state park was a very enjoyable hike for the entire family. Even our 8-year-old boy who usually complains about hikes liked it. Walking under a waterfall was especially fun. Some gorgeous photo-ops. The hike is not very difficult because the paths are paved and have steps where needed. My only complaint is that the George trail which is... More
