Don't bother visiting unless you want to be a victim of the owners ego stroking. Rude and condescending! The joys of visiting the smaller wineries is to hear the story of how the wine evolved and experience the pride of the grower, neither of which Shaw expressed. The wines were great. I would recommend the owner close down the tasting... more

Just got back from my second visit to the wine trail. My first was using the "Polar Pass" about 8 months ago, and this time we did the big "Deck the Halls" event. It was a blast! The Seneca Lake wine trail is beautiful, warm, friendly and an amazing bargain (you can do a tasting at most wineries for $1 - 4). Being a bit of a wine snob, I was pleasantly surprised by the high quality of the wines available in the Finger Lakes wine country. The area is known for its Rieslings, but many wineries also make wonderful wine from Pinot Noir, Chardonnay, Gewurtz, Vidal Blanc, Lemberger, Cab Franc - and more.
