We took a car ride on the top of Whiteface Mountain. Lots of bugs! Fortunately, we had repellent in a car. The road is uneven, don't go fast. The view is gorgeous, from the top and from the road. There is a stairs to the top, or you can take tunnel/elevator (free ride). Or combine - take elevator up and... More

We did not ski, we only took Gondola ride from the bottom to the top of the Mountain. It was a great ride up and down and once at the top the view was spectacular. We really enjoyed watching the skiers and snow boarders brave the mountain. Well done operation and was a great event during our stay in Lake... More

For those who want a high peaks experience w/o the climb, the Whiteface Toll Road is your ticket to the top. Many trails can be accessed at various locations. In the winter, the ski center is enjoyed by ADK visitors & locals alike!

What more could you want for beauty? The elevator ride in the center of the mountain is quite cold and you should bring a jacket for that as well as being on top of the mountain. It's very windy up there but you won't want to leave!

Icy even with decent snowfall and even in green slopes, but great if you are an expert skier. The restaurant in midmountain had fabulous crepes. Scenery from the top was gorgeous with views of Stowe on the clear day I was there. Will definitely return.

Skiing is good, conditions are what falls from the sky, yet the lifts are a bit dated. Food on the hill/base is very expensive.

My husband and I took our 4 teens (ages 11 to 16) for 3 days of skiing at Whiteface mountain during Spring break...not knowing what to expect..but WOW! What a mountain with a view and splendid skiing! The Adirondaks are spectacular from the top of the mountain, there are 5 snowparks which pleased my sons. We lodged in Lake Placid... More

Well planned equipment drop off. Basically drop off is right by the main lodge where the locker rooms are located. Once we put on our boots the slopes are by the locker room exit. The gondola abiut 100' away. No lift lines! We were able to ski practically non-stop all day.
