We were there in the middle of the week so it was not crowded at the time. The views are wonderful. Wandering around the French Castle really makes you think about what it took to build this and what the troops went through guarding the fort. A lot of walking and some stairs.

There are reenactments of skirmishes, tours with explanations, and a movie to detail the forts history. For many, the conflict between the English and Americans over the northern border is relatively unknown. A trip to Niagra can be filled with history and fun. The characters are all in period and are very informative.

The Old Fort is one of America's oldest and houses one of America's oldest Flags. The history is fascinating and the Fort is well kept. The park is lovely and the scenery beautiful. I suggest this site during the summer months so that you can enjoy the view of Lake Ontario while you are there. The park also offers a separate beach, pool facility and picnic area for you to spend the afternoon.
