When we went the buildings weren't opened because there was a "craft fair" type of event going on outside. We were able to look around and see inside the building, really interesting to see in the old appothacary. The other historic buildings around town and the old cemetery were also worth the stop.

Love Beaufort! Peaceful, calm, quaint little village along the water. Plenty of small shops, bakery, places to eat and enjoy the view of the water. Lots of history, things to see. If you want a slow paced, relaxing getaway this is the perfect place to visit for a weekend or week.

The lowland country is beautiful and Beaufort distinguishes itself with a beautiful waterfront, antebellum homes, and a lovely historic area which is easily accessible with lots of small shops with interesting contents. It was slow, easy and the locals very nice.

Beaufort NC voted the coolest small town in the U.S. is exactly that. The visitors center is located at the Historic Site where the original buildings from the 1800's and earlier are featured. In addition, the whole town is one walking experience of historical homes and gardens. Located 1/2 block from the waterfront, you can take a double-decker bus ride... More

Beaufort, NC, is a very beautiful, quaint small town in Eastern NC. There are many unique shops and great restaurants up and down the main street (Front Street) to enjoy. The dock is quite interesting with many yachts and boats of all kinds from all over the world. A walk along the waterfront is very pleasant and fun. Many times... More

There is so much to see in such a small little town. If you love history do not miss Beaufort. Even taking your own "riding tour" up and down the streets, checking out so many historical sites and homes is worth your time.

Beaufort NC is an easy port town to enjoy. Any where you walk, you can enjoy taking in the ambience and history. There are neat places to shop and eat as well. Best of all, you can enjoy Beaufort on the cheap. If you like to stroll, most any street in this small waterfront village has quaint views. If you... More

Beaufort NC is just an outstanding place to visit. Great history, views, and restaurants. Be sure to visit the scientific facilities on Pivar's Island next door.

Its ok to see as your walking around town, but not really a destination in and of itself
