This was a great trip. My husband and I were celebrating 25 yrs of marriage and it was perfect. We enjoyed the relaxing ride and each other's company without any distractions of driving or navigation.

the ride is nice but can be boring would like to have the train spend more time at the stops the restaurants are very crowded and you have to rush to eat and don't have time to walk around the shops

This is well worth the effort to experience. If you never had the opportunity to ride the rails during their high times, this will give you that experience. The people who operate the train are outstanding and very friendily and can answer any question about railroading.

My sisters and I brought my dad up to the mountains for his 82nd Birthday. He's wanted to ride the train for a long time now, so we made his want a reality. I visited her in mid-April, which was somewhat early for viewing the plants and trees, but still a great ride. There is $5 parking across from the depot which allows you to park all day.
