White Water Falls are the highest water falls east of the Mississippi. They are 411 feet high; however you can only view them from two look out areas. The upper falls are in NC and the lower falls are in SC. The lower falls are 400 feet tall, so I foolishly wanted to see them also. We got directions from... more

The falls are absolutely awesome, but be warned that you don't get very close to them. There are two overlook points, the first at the end of a short wheelchair-accessible paved path from the parking lot (with nice views along the way), and the second down a long flight of wide wooden steps from the first overlook, which ends at... more
