The uniqueness of this arboretum is that it focuses on flora of the various regions of NC. This is unlike the other 2 aboretums in the area which are more typical international in emphasis -Raulston Arboretum in Raleigh (also free) and Sara Duke Gardens in Durham (free but $2/hr parking).
