I took my mom and a group of friends. You are never too old to enjoy Discovery Place.

This was a fun place for our kids who enjoyed it thoroughly. Plenty of workstations, and thoughtful displays that can ignite curiosity and explain complex science simply. The sections are well organized and can cater to girl and boys, in age appropriate and interest defined ways. The hands on shows were also wonderful. IMAX dome show was OK, probably needs... More

Thought this would be difficult with a three year old. My son disagreed and he was right. My granddaughter probably has as much fun if not more than the rest of us. Plenty of interactivity and she got to pet a snake!!!

Nice kids' section - adults might not find it very interesting The combo of museum exhibit + a 4D movie is a better option to go for. Check the schedules in advance for the special exhibits and the shows.

What I really love about Discovery Place is the I-MAX theater. I've seen several films there and they never disappoint. If you are into gemology (spell?) you will really love their display of all the natural gems found in North Carolina. Their dinosaur exhibit is a hoot - plastic T-Rex with such a fake roar it's quite comical. If you... More

They have a great rotating schedule for the exhibits and Imax films. Always something new and exciting to learn and see! Keeps kids engaged with several hands on activities:)

The museum just never did jazz me. I do go there when they have the big traveling exhibit/shows. Permanent part of museum= doesn't equal the hype. Even my kids were bored quickly here.

Very disappointed at the dated atmosphere and unfriendly employees. Quit taking the grandchildren because it is not worth the cost.

Take the kids for a while and let them climb around and check out the interactive exhibits. You can even take in an IMAX movie if it suits you - and close to lots of food options right in Center City Charlotte.
