The Currituck Beach Lighthouse is a great place to visit while in the Outer Banks! You can climb the 214 stairs to the top of the 158 ft tall lighthouse any day of the week weather permitting between 9am and 5pm. You can also go into the gift shop and learn the history of the lighthouse and the graveyard of... more

I was skeptical about paying to walk all those steps and it was not that easy, but the view at the top was so worth the money and the effort. It was just in the upper 70's maybe 80 degrees the day we did the tour, I wouldn't recommend doing it if it's any hotter as it would be stifiling... more

Very nice place to stop and visit. We did not climb to the top of this one (we had already climbed Cape Hatteras the day before) but we enjoyed the visit there - best yet, it was free for us! more

On our vacation we visited this lighthouse then the Cape Hatteras lighthouse. Both were great - I recommend you visit them in that order. Hatteras is taller and more famous, but the Currituck lighthouse exhibit is much more informative. Visiting Currituck is a fun way to learn about the history of lighthouses and the outer banks. more

I think $7 is high to climb the lighthouse stairs, but it was good to do. The view is nice, of course, and it's fun to see an old lighthouse. I was disappointed not to be able to go to the very top, but that's probably not logistically feasible. On the grounds there is the light house and two houses.... more

We were looking for something to do to take a break from the beach and decided to visit the lighthouse and was pleasantly surprised. For a small $7.00 fee, (age 7 and older) you can climb to the top of the lighthouse. Given we had never visited a lighthouse it was a fun experience for our family, and our three... more
