Not much has changed at Mary Jo's has changed in 60 years - it is a huge store with tons of selections of cloth but do not expect a modern layout - not sure how you could bring a modern layout to a cloth store anyways. But do know what you are looking for and what you intend to do... More

I have gone to Mary Jo's Cloth store only when I HAD to for more than 30 years and absolutely hate it. It has always been this way. No doubt they have a fabulous selection .. too bad, too .. wish there were another game in town. There are hand-lettered signs throughout the store screaming at you to not shoplift... More

Good ole Mary Jo has been there for years and has one of the largest selections of fabric in Gaston County and most of Charlotte. If you are looking to buy fabric by the yard, this is your place.

I live in Gastonia. I had been into Mary Jo's on several occasions to pick up things I needed to finish craft projects. Knowing what I needed I never needed assistance. I had simply 'gushed' over this place to my sister who lives in Wilmington and is really into sewing and quilting. When my sister came to visit I was... More

This trip is half way between my house and my daughters and I stop every chance I get. It is 300 miles from me so that is a good stopping point. I have never been treated rudely and have even talked to Mary Jo. Everyone has always been nice to me. I normally travel on the week days so it... More

I have heard about Mary Jo's for years and finally made the trip today. It will be a long time, if ever that I return. I will say that the selection is incredible. The prices were no deal on the materials that I was looking at. The customer service is why I will not return. The bolt of fabric that... More

I am a freelance costume designer and I make the 4-hour drive to Mary Jo's almost every time I am working on a show. The selection is incredible and the prices are unbelievably low. I have found the staff to be extremely helpful. The store is insanely busy, so I suspect the staff does not have a whole lot of... More

I went to Mary Jo's to make a purchase, and the salesperson was rude. The only thing on her little tiny mind was quitting time and payday. ...what a piece of human garbage !

As a quilter and beginner in garment sewing, of course I had heard of Mary Jo's. But I was unprepared for the combination of great prices and selection under one roof. And I found the staff extremely helpful, especially Debbie, who went out of her way to find a fabric to fill a specific need that I had. I will... More

I found Estelle at Mary Jo's extemely rude and not helpful. Yes there is great cloth at this store, but, you know what there is great cloth at a whole lot of other places. I called the store to file a complaint, the Office Manager Jennie had received complaints previously about Estelle, but the owner wants her to stay; essentially,... More
