We visited Wolf Laurel on New Years Eve, having never been to a ski resort before. Here were the pros and cons of our stay: Pros -One of the cheapest resorts in the area -Close vicinity to Asheville Cons -The staff acted like they hated their jobs. Wolf Laurel is quickly climbing the ladder to become one of North Carolina's finest skiing destinations. The mountain has always had some of the most excellent ski terrain for all skill levels. Now, with an all-new snowmaking system including beautiful, shiny Areco Snowsystem and Lenko fan-type machines, snow production here is excellent.
