The preservation museum houses wonderful photos and items from the life of Ocracoke Village. It is well worth your time to stop in and visit. With a little luck you are traveling by bicycle and can include it as part of your tour!

Worth the trip, but average. There is nothing to complain about though. We just couldn't wait too see and explore Ocracoke.

For what it is, a small scale local museum, they do an excellent job of showcasing interesting narratives of locals and the island itself. Kids may not find it terribly interesting because there aren't any bells or whistles, but for history buffs it is worth a stop!
