This is such a charming lighthouse that can only be seen from a few places on the island and even tho' we've gone...and taken pictures...many times...we always go back. A nice bike ride from anywhere on the island and worth the stop :)
The Ocracoke Lighthouse is a beautiful addition to the NC Lighthouses!
We walked to the lighthouse but the building itself is closed for visitors so there was not much to see although the walk was pleasant and the grounds well maintained.
The grounds and light house are a true trip back in time, I just wish there was a house to tour.
If you are sight seeing in this small town rent a golf cart for the visit. Can easily get to lighthouse and park. Well maintained grounds and easily found. It's the back roads of Ocracoke that make the day memorable. Don't leave this off your list.
The lighthouse was well maintained and the grounds were well cared for. The parking is terrible. Maybe five parking spaces.
Well kept grounds, in good repair, just a shame you can't look inside.
All you can do is look at it, you cannot climb it. A volunteer did go over the history of the lighthouse with us.
