We went to wave rock in hyden and stayed at the camp site. The rock was amazing, it was massive and you can walk all round it and on the top where the view was great, its free to visit but wear decent foot wear as the top is steep in parts and slippery when wet. Well worth a visit,... More

Travel by car from Perth to the Rock location which took about 4 hrs drive. Quite a boring drive too, because we could only see Wheat Farm along the journey. And when we got there, that's all we could see just a rock formation which look like a wave.

Was unsure what to expect at this site, however was glad I went because as usual photos don't give you the true perspective. Standing at the bottom of the wave formation is quite spectacular as it towers above you and is well worth a trip from Perth to see.

This place really has to be seen to believe. What a gift Mother Nature has given us here. Unspoilt ... easy access ... magnificently preserved. Put it on your Bucket List

340 kms from Fremantle and nearly 4 hours drive through the wheat belt of Western Australia, but it was worth it, this natural rock formation, of all colours, walkalong the bottom and you can climb the rock with its rock pools and see for miles in every direction, there is a small camp site or bungalows where you can stay... Bigger than expected worth it especially if you are passing through (we came from Esperance on our way back to Perth), a LONG day trip though if you are an out of state tourist and just coming to see the rock from Perth.

Good to see but I would not travel all the way from Perth just to see! Good passing through on the way to Esperance.

The BEST WAY to do this is to hire a car out of Perth (unless your already driving) and book a room at the Wave Rock Motel. Its cheaper than a tour bus and YOU get to decide where to stop and how long to stay. It is well worth going, but don't miss all that's out there. Wave Rock... More
