My daughter and I visited the Cape Fear Museum and enjoyed learning some of the history of the region. There is a self-guided tour that starts with the first settlers and ends pretty much at modern times. A lot of great information and interesting pieces are available for visitors. We visited this museum in early August. My husband, who usually does not enjoy museums, loved it. The exhibits range from a large skeleton replica, early weapons, early farming tools, scale models of Wilmington to modern day exhibits. There were hands on activites for my daughters (17, 6, & 3) throughout the museum--even before we entered the Michael Jordan Discovery... more
