My husband and I have toured the USS. North Carolina Batleship and we intend to visit it again in January to tour the secret rooms. We are very excited to learn more about this incredible place. This ship is not accessble for anyone with a physical disability. You must be able to climb up and down ladders and step over... more

The USS North Carolina gave us a much more interesting experience than we expected! I have toured several ships and subs in the past, and the North Carolina was the best I have seen. The ship allowed visitors to go into many more areas than most ships allow. Each area had a good explaination of the area, along with very... more

I'm sure the self-guided tour of the ship would be great for adults & age-appropriate children, however there were not enough safety measures taken to prevent young children from injuring themselves. We took our 2 year old, thinking that the ship would be safe & fairly easy to navigate. No so. It was a nightmare trying to keep her from... more

Touring the USS North Carolina was a close second to the beaches we drove two days to enjoy in NC. My 8 and 5 yr olds loved it, I loved it, my husband loved it. I am not particularly patriotic, and the video actually made me cry with pride to be an American (must see before you tour the ship,... more

Really nice tour of an important part of history. You can spend most of an entire day touring this ship. Be aware that there are lots of places really small and difficult to navigate! A true must see to appreciate. We took a water taxi over across the Cape Fear River instead of driving and learned alot of tidbits! e.g.,... more

We had a great time at the USS NC. We visited May 9, 2008. The admission was reasonable and the self-guided tour took us about 2 hours and that was moving at a very fast pace. We would have liked to stay longer but we had to get on the road to head back to Tennessee. Also, my 2 year... more

The USS NC is a great place for history buffs and tourists alike. It has a "vibe" to it that's hard to describe. You can almost hear the massive weapons firing & orders being barked to the soldiers. It's well-rumored to be haunted & has been featured on the SciFi show Ghost Hunters. It's a very interesting place to visit.... more

I toured the ship with my 6-year-old son in February. The weather was perfect and there were only 10 other people touring the ship the entire time we were there. Most of the time my son and I were the only ones on the ship. That was nice but also a little eerie, feeling all alone in this giant metal... more

We toured the USS battleship while visiting Wilimington. At first the adults weren't as excited as the children. As we toured the ship and learned the history and how the crew lived on the ship we were amazed at what we saw. I would recommend this when visiting Wilmington...just wear the right shoes because it is at least a 2... more

I have three boys. When we told them they were headed to a ship for a day they didn't seem that excited. I think they were thinking dinner cruise. From the moment we got to the parking lot their eyes lit up! They didn't stop! We spent over 3 hours on the ship. The boys wanted to check out every... more
