I lived on the island for a long time, and going down to Ft Fisher and for a visit was always a great thing to be able to do. I'd come back through Kure Beach and grab lunch at the Pier Restaurant, and as long as it wasn't peak tourist season it'd be a great all around thing to do.... More

Beautiful place by the water. The museum was not open though.

Love to go here each time we visit. One of the most beautiful areas in NC. Walk or bike around, learn some history too. Love it!

Really impressed my grandson who at 13 is just beginning to realize the value of history. Trio there may be a little exasperating during summer weekend (1 land road) but worth the drive if you are interested in NC CIvil War history.

tells the story of the last blocked port to fall which soon ended the Civil War. The site has a long and varied history

The drive down the coast is well worth the trip. Be sure and plan on spending the whole day. The beaches are great on that end.

This is a section of the local seaside that retain it's scenic value without being over developed i always feel refreshed visiting here.
