The zoo is ok. There isn't a whole lot of animals. If you want a really good zoo in ND, the best is in Minot.
We have season passes. For the price, this is the way to go. Kids enjoy the indoor activities and have a good time. We like the special events. Is relatively simple and small for a zoo but it is nice to get the kids out to something.
There seems to be a new animal or baby every time we visit, especially in the spring. We like to go to the Zoo in the winter when they are open for limited hours on the weekends. The animals are a lot more active when it is cooler and sometimes it feels like you have the whole zoo to yourself....

very nice grounds. gift shop has lots of cool items. concessions on site. train that runs during the summer only. lots of exercise for the family walking around to see everything since it's quite spread out. a few strollers to rent so for sure bring one if you have a toddler. feeding dispensers along the way so bring quarters.
We live outside of Bismarck and love to go to the zoo anytime we can! For being small it does have some good animals...monkey's, bears, mountain lions, tigers, wolves, badgers and many more. Also if you are short on time take advantage of the train ride so that you can see the elk, deer and caribou. If you have time,...

This is a nice zoo for a city the size of Bismarck. Very large variety of animals from all over the globe. I was very impressed with the tiger enclosure. The eagle enclosure was also very cool. the animals appeared to be cared for. we enjoyed the walk thru even though it was pre season opening for weekends only. there were spots that were muddy, but like i said it was preseason and the animals were out doing their thing.
One of our favorite places to go in Bismarck. My kids love the trains and feeding the animals. Very pretty setting and laid out very nice.
Very nice zoo with a large park next to it. Kids rides also. This is no small zoo either. you can spend a day there, with plenty to do. And not very far from the mall, eating, and hotels.
