We called Reykjavik Excursions directly to set up transportation to the Blue Lagoon the day before we were leaving Iceland. On the morning of our departure they did not show up. After 20 minutes of waiting we called and they sent a van to help us meet up with the bus. The driver of the bus did not want us... more

The Blue Lagoon is completely man-made from volcanic rock that makes up much of the landscape from the airport to the outskirts of Reykjavik. The floor of the large lagoon is covered with silica and the water is naturally geothermally heated, cooled to a comfortable temperature, and made available to locals and tourists alike. The experience is quite marvelous and... more

The lagoon is amazing and beautiful. Whilst most tours aim for 1-1.5 hours, i would suggest a minimum of 2 hours, and 3 would be good (then you could have a snack with that view!). The water is hot, and it is great to float in, the white cream/gunk is in pots on the left side of the lake. Regarding... more

We went from the airport to the Blue Lagoon by car after we arrived from Canada at 7am. The weather in the area was cold and miserable but once you were inside the lagoon you completely forgot. The building was modern and clean and the lagoon itself was facinating and relaxing. On our way back to the parking lot we... more

This place was pretty cool. Our driver told us to use the indoor pool, it has an outlet to outside; nice to know, particularly as we watched people running freezing in their bathing suits from the building to get in the pool. Have to shower naked with strangers, or if you are part of a group like I was, naked... more

Not to claim the Blue Lagoon to be the greatest thing to see in all of Iceland, it is not, but there was one reviewer on here that claimed it to be created by sewage treatment water from the nearby plant. As I alluded to, the Blue Lagoon is a nice treat, especially amidst the winter cold, but not fantastic,... more

We loved the Blue Lagoon so much we stayed there for 8 hours. The weather was too bad to climb Hekla so we decided to bring our trip forward. We both loved every minute. One word of advice, take some very good quality conditioner for your hair. It feels like dreadlocks otherwise. You pay for everything on your wristband so... more

A group of seven of us went to the Blue Lagoon. The 100F water was a wonderful was to thaw out from the 28F air temperature. The scenery was otherworldly and there were many nooks to explore. The steam shower and sauna was a nice break from the water. I also indulged in a massage which was to die for.... more

During our trip to Reykjavik we visited the Blue Lagoon. The Blue Lagoon is a 40 minute coach ride from reykjavik bus station. We booked the trip prior to arriving in Iceland via Reykjavik Excursions. The cost is approximately £2 more expensive if you book the entrance fee through Reykjavik Excursions - it cuts out the hastle though (not that... more
