The Capitol really is a gem! It has great [professional] theatre - their summer shows are terrific, and the casting is amazing. The Capitol brings in live acts year round - everyone from Jesse Cooke to Michael Burgess & Doug Riley to Joe Sealy & Molly Johnson to Lorne Elliott & Nancy White. I have been attending events at the Capitol Theatre in Port Hope for many years and can attest to the fact that it is a great venue for music, comedy, and good theatre. I especially like the summer plays and musicals, and very frequently attend other events. Tthe renovated premises are top notch. I will continue to go to events... more

my fiancee and i drove up from niagara falls (ny) to see "the last 5 years". what a waste of time and money. we spent $55 for tickets, and the show was absolutely terrible...like community theatre calibre. this theatre does not live up to the hype. the actors sounded like they were middle school chorus dropouts, the 'orchestra' sounded like... more
