An amazing insight into the war years for the people of Stockport

This is a brilliant couple of hours, immersing yourself in the history of WW2. It is a little difficult enabling a person with a heavy wheelchair in the sandstone, and parts are inaccessible for disabled wheelchair users, but the people I supported to see this who were in wheelchairs still enjoyed it so much.

Well worth a visit if only to get a first hand feel for how it must of been for so many- a great little piece of our history still well maintained- a interesting experience.

Took my 3 year old son to see Santa and the fairy at the Stockport Air Raid Shelter. Magical seeing my son's face light up at every turn!

Excellent attraction, really interesting made even better by Dot our fab tour guide who is funny, knowledgable and interesting! Definitely would come back again.

A very interesting tour and fascinating to see what people put up with in order to escape teh bombing threat. Hard to imagine otherwise what this could have been like. Well worth a visit.

we took an evening tour in 2011 and we were very impressed by the knowledge of the tour guide - quite a long tour - over 2 hours but worth every minute to hear about the history of the shelters

It gives people who were not around during WW2 an insight into what people had to endure.Very atmospheric.
