Cartmel is hidden away but well worth seeking out. The Priory is a welcome sacred space after the busy M6 motorway. It's a place to just be and soak in the atmosphere, the hundreds of years of prayers and the sense of peace.

Enjoyed the Priory very much and would love to revisit at some time.We were there for some time and a lady volunteer explained a lot to us.

The priory is a beautiful medieval building in a very pretty village. Packed with history, well displayed information, and welcoming for worship. They are lucky to have a fine organ, an excellent organist in Adrian Self, and a good new vicar..

If you avoid the race days at the nearby course on Bank Holidays, Cartmel is a lovely peaceful village in the South Lakes with an abundance of excellent restaurants and bars. Cartmel is a little jewel of a place which had lovely little gift shops, excellent food shops and some fantastic places to eat as well as the diversity if a race course and peace and quiet of the priory

Just a beautiful building without any outstanding monuments or points of interest, but well worth a visit.

A beautiful old priory church with plenty of historical interest, particularly good if you can catch it at a time when the organ is being played.

Free to go in, lots of information for visitors, nice shop. Wonderful location.
